✿✿✿ BAMBOO WHISK - HOW TO USE ✿✿✿
Soak the tips of the whisk in a bowl of warm water, this is to soften the prongs and make them more flexible and less brittle.
After sifting the matcha powder into the matcha bowl (Chawan), add in 90° of hot water and slowly move the whisk in "M" or "W" motion as quickly as you can until matcha has a thick froth with tiny bubbles on the surface. (Do not whisk too long as heat will be lost during whisking)
Use the bamboo whisk to draw a circle and remove it from the center of the tea bowl.
✿✿✿ TO NOTE - BAMBOO WHISK ✿✿✿
Bamboo whisks are sometimes susceptible to cracking in certain conditions because the bamboo used is dense and fibrous so if there is a sudden change of temperature or humidity, they might form a crack. Here are two steps to reduce the chances of bamboo fibre cracks and increase the Chasen's lifespan:
1. After using, rinse it with water and air-dry well (Avoid putting directly under the sunlight).
2. Thereafter, store it in a cool, dark and dry place (Do not store it in the fridge).
✿✿✿ TO NOTE - MATCHA SCOOP ✿✿✿
Try not to use water to wash the scoop, if possible, just use a clean dry cloth to wipe away the matcha powder.
